My Leadership Style

Robert K. Greenleaf, while working at AT&T, is the person who first articulated the principles of servant leadership for our time. There, Greenlead contributed mightily to AT&T as Director of the world’s first corporate assessment center where he created a program to expose up-and-coming leaders while bringing in famous theologians and psychologists to speak about the wider implications of corporate decisions. He surmised that servant leaders prioritize the needs of their team members and clients whom they serve. As opposed to the widely accepted concept of leadership that focuses on the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid.”

Integrity is my non-negotiable foundation for all business dealings. I am not motivated by money or power. On the contrary, I uphold ethical business practices and beleive in an environment of collaboration that fosters a safe place to share new ideas that contribute positively to whom we serve. I enjoy delegating power and putting the needs of others first. For me, leadership is helping people develop and perform as highly as possible so they can reach their full potential. I do this by listening, engagement, persuasion, and I use my knowledge, intuition and foresight.

My Entrepreneurship Journey

Many have debated whether leaders are born or made. My aim here is not to enter that debate, but to agree that good business decisions backed by hardwork are the fundamental pillars to being a successfull leader and entrepreneur. There are also some innate traits needed to keep grinding such as Creativity, Stubbornness, Self-confidence, Courage, Capacity to motivate people, Assertiveness, Adaptability, Decisiveness, and Extroversion. I was born with those character traits which helped me in successfully launching an idea into a fully-fledged and thriving business organization. I have done it more than once!

I began practicing my passion for software architecture in 1998 where I served as Enterprise Architect for REZlink International Inc. There, I led the research and development efforts that produced an enterprise software architecture and framework to support a complete web-based centralized reservation system. At that time, it was the first of its kind! I was later promoted to President tasked with developing the vision for the organization, communicating this vision to our team, and then implementing the vision. This accomplishment paved the way for me to eventually launch a nationally recognized technology business.

As an Enterprise Architect I have many years of experience collaborating and building consensus among business units and technology teams.  I exercise excellent strategic vision with a strong people focus and a commitment to ethical software development practices.  As an entrepreneur, I am an innovative and creative thinker. I have co-founded, scaled, and successfully exited a software business and successful marketing company.

I spend most of my time reading and I am somewhat obsessive about learning. I enjoy blending my technical know-how, process management discipline, and marketing savvy to help businesses make a positive impact.  I also co-authored a book on the hurdles and lows that one has to face in reaching personal goals
