Shaping the Future Workforce

When local business leaders and educators work together, we shape the future workforce by aligning local leadership with the evolving needs of the business and society. This includes understanding the current state of the people employed in an organization, identifying skill gaps, and developing strategies to fill those gaps. It also involves preparing for future challenges and ensuring that the workforce is ready to adapt to new technologies and changing business models.

    Taking a deeper look

My participation as an advisory member is a pivotal aspect of my community engagement, allowing me to leverage my experience as a business leader to provide valuable insights into the current state of the talent pool, job markets, and work environments.

By investing in thoughtful, ongoing workforce planning, my fellow business leaders and I support the College of Computer & Information Technology at SPC in preparing a future workforce that is not only technically skilled but also equipped to contribute real-world perspectives. Our involvement provides insights to the college, ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.

“As an Advisory Committee member, you help the college guide their academic efforts. And at the same time, you help a student or a new professional in the community get their first job and that is a great feeling in and of itself.”

    Why it matters
